Item Description
9.25x13.5". c. 1797-98. First edition of Hail Columbia/The Presidents March. Applied engraved portrait of Washington on first interior page. Area of loss on bottom section of second page, but remains complete. Scattered chipping and tearing along edges. Age toning and faint scattered staining. Technically Fair, but displays above grade. Along w/his son, Benjamin Carr, Joseph Carr was among the most important publishers of music in early America. He immigrated from England to Baltimore in 1794 and the pair were a dominant force until around 1800.
