Item Description
Set of 32. Each is 7/8" tin litho. Portrait photo at center surrounded by "Yellow Basepath", hence the name they are referred to. Nearly half the set (15) are National Baseball Hall Of Fame members. The key button, both in terms of desirability and value is Mickey Mantle. Other HOF'ers are: Hank Aaron, Luis Aparicio, Richie (misspelled "Ritchie") Ashburn, Ernie Banks, Yogi Berra, Larry Doby, Nellie Fox, Al Kaline, Eddie Matthews, Stan Musial, Pee Wee Reese, Robin Roberts, Red Schoendienst and Duke Snider. Mantle has trivial wear only seen upon magnification. NM. Matthews is the only button that has notable wear with scattered color rubs/loss around rim. VG. Rest of set has overall minimal wear, also mostly only seen upon magnification. Set remains bright and glossy. Overall VF to NM. The last set we sold, from the Paul Muchinsky Collection and in similar condition, realized $4,672 in our Nov. 2021 auction.
