Item Description
1.25"w/union back stamp. Jugates featuring the 1924 Democratic candidates are rare and this sepia variety is especially so. Scarcer than the smaller 7/8" variety. Slightly light appearance, that likely occurred in the photo development process, and is typical of this rare design. Otherwise glossy w/only light surface wear. Exc. as made. A rare opportunity, and can be paired w/the matching Coolidge and Dawes jugate.

A note from Americana Specialist Scott Mussell: The Cox & Roosevelt jugate enjoys mass recognition as the hobby's holy grail button but I'd be remiss if we didn't note that 1.25" Davis & Bryan jugates are in all cases rarer than the majority of Cox/FDR jugates. The present example is a terrific specimen that is among the finest known. While some are extremely light, a result of overexposing the photographic paper used in printing, here the contrast is pleasingly distinct with only a touch of over exposure making it among the most impressive extant. A special opportunity for advanced collectors and/or those seeking the rarest or the rare.
