Item Description
2.25" litho. Likely produced in the mid-1960s for a fundraising drive. Text on reverse "We Are Pleading With You- Not As A Race, But As New Yorkers- Help Us To Expand A Skill We Have Developed 'Playing Basketball On A Unicycle' Charles Unicycle Riders Get Changed- Get Together- Get Going". Scattered scratches and minor paint wear not affecting design. Exc. Started in 1958 in the Southeast Bronx after Jerry King taught his son to ride a unicycle. Area children showed interest spurring King to form a group eventually growing into a troop of 100 kids. In 1968 the group became the first all African American act in the Ringling Bros. Circus.
