Item Description
Known as both The Living Doll and The Cuban Atom,  this famous performer from Cuba had high profile appearances at the 1898 Trans-Mississippi and 1901 Pan-American expositions. Her concession was run by Frank Bostock, more famous for trained animals, and Chiquita's principle act was to hold daily receptions in her Chiquita-sized drawing room where guests who paid the needed 15¢ could ask her questions and marvel at her beautiful gowns, jewelry and general bric-a-brac including her collection of rare old lace. Buttons are: 2-1/8" choice full color, two 1.75" w/photos that have color tinting in two subtle varieties including pale pink on one, 7/8" sepia photo. The three larger have W&H back papers, the fourth has a solid metal back. Lt. scattered wear, VF to Exc. All are scarce to rare. An instant collection.
