Item Description
5x7.5" illustrated paper envelope has image of boy pointing at portrait image of Superman at bottom and contains two 4x7.25" decal transfer sheets as issued. ©1944 Detective Comics Inc. Companion to Batman transfers issued at this time (also in this auction). Envelope has some aging and shows wear including 1" tear to flap, two small tears at top edges and some handling wear. Fine/VF. Transfers included "Superman" comic title logo as well as 11 different Superman transfers (two w/Lois Lane), single Clark Kent portrait transfer as well as another Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Prankster and Mr. Mxyztplk transfers. Backs have "Follow The Adventures Of Superman In Action Comics - Superman - World's Finest Comics" advertising text. Transfers are evenly aged but complete and unused w/just some lt. scattered wear. VF/Exc. Set was sold for 10¢. Scarce as complete and unused. Harry Matetsky Collection.
