Item Description
11.5" tall smoked glass and sterling silver presentation pitcher by Eisenberg Lozano and presented to Curt Simmons (1929-2022),  who played in MLB 1947-1950 and 1952-1967,  and was one of the twin anchors of the starting rotation of the "Whiz Kids," the Philadelphia Phillies' 1950 NL championship team. A three-time MLB All-Star, Simmons also played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and California Angels. Pitcher has stein-like top w/decorative dolphin accent and has separate metal-topped ice tube insert used to keep drinks cold. Metal pitcher top has "East-West All-Stars - Riverfront Stadium - Cincinnati - Curt Simmons - June 19, 1971" engraved text. Each player in this game was presented a pitcher to commemorate that date. Silver shows some expected tarnish but o/w displays Exc. High quality piece.
