Item Description
4.75x12" on thin paper. Features a portrait of the 1884 presidential nominee at the top w/ the names and districts of his 12 Massachusetts electors below. Also named on the ballot are the nominees for the Greenback Party at the state level, including gubernatorial candidate, Matthew J. McCafferty. Butler ultimately received just over 1% of the popular vote nationally and has been regarded by some historians as a spoiler that cost James Blaine the election. McCafferty received over 8% of the vote in race for Massachusetts governor. Horizontal fold line in the center, otherwise only light handling. Extremely Fine. A large and attractive ballot from the 1884 campaign.
