Item Description
2.5x4” stiff paper card. 1940 issued by Skelly Oil Co. Front has penciled name of original recipient at designated area noting rank of “Junior Pilot” enabling bearer to “Carry The Captain Midnight Flight Patrol Medal Of Membership And Participate In Patrol Activities.” Front also has penciled “1940” on top right corner. Reverse has pencil-signed “Parent Or Guardian” line. Pilot license number has not been filled in. Reverse includes pledge text of “Our Code” and has additional pair of plane silhouette images. Three of 12 numbered blocks along left edge have been punched, probably to show child/parent visited local Skelly gasoline dealer to pick up monthly club newspaper. Ovaltine took over in 1941. VF.
