Item Description
All are 7/8". The ship funnels are 11 of 12 missing only Atlantic Transport Line (British). One has no back paper, four have back paper loss, and six have High Admiral Cigarettes sponsor paper also naming maker as Riley-Klotz (under W&H patents). The specified companies are: Allan, American, Anchor (only stained one), Cunard, French, Hamburg American, Netherlands, North German Lloyd, Red Star Thingvalla, White Star. Rare as a set. The set showing the entire ship is complete in terms of ship names, but missing a minor text variety with the word "Paris" not followed by a period. So, 16 of 17 known. All have American Pepsin Gum or W&H back paper. Only "Paris" has a hairline 3/8" split by the collet. The ship lines and number of ships shown are: American (4), Anchor (1), Cunard (4), French (2), Hamburg American (1), North German Lloyd, White Star (3). Seldom offered as a (near) set.
