Item Description
1.25". Dated November 16-17, 1946. Kennedy, the newly elected Congressman of the 11th Massachusetts Congressional District, gave a speech to the veterans group at the reunion telling the story of Lieutenant John McCarthy, who was killed in action during WWII, concluding w/a message on the importance of the U.S. government and the American people coming together to assist the veterans who returned home from war. Tiny chip at 6 o'clock on curl, as well as a cello cut at 12 o'clock along curl. Otherwise moderate surface wear in reflected light. Glossy. Technically Fine, but displays above grade. One of the earliest JFK-related pinbacks, produced for an event held just days after his first election to Congress. John Hillhouse Collection.
