Item Description
2.5x4.25" to 7x9.5". All pieces are cardstock. Large ball invitation has "Copyright 1885 V.G. Fischer, Wash., D.C." at bottom center. Cleveland and Hendricks appear in ovals w/facsimile signatures below. Bold, impressive engraving. Jugate "Grand Inauguration Ball" has portraits of the Democratic leaders w/ornate frames and the date and location in between them. Dance card is 16 pgs. w/red string attached. Ticket has the date and location listed on front w/"Willett & Rouff, Hatters & Furriers" stamped on reverse. Dance card has a few scattered spots in lower right corner of cover w/moderate handling wear. Accompanying embossed envelope also has moderate handling and edge wear. Both Fine. Small ticket has moderate wear and some even aging. VF. Two large jugate inauguration items have only light scattered wear and are both extremely Fine. An impressive grouping from Cleveland's first inauguration.
