Item Description
This is a most unusual celluloid at 2.75" long with a flat tin covered back. There are no traces of a pin being soldered on and no traces of a ribbon it might have hung from. Also, no maker's name.  Gorgeous depiction of an orange tree orchard surrounds a flag topped tent. A bearded man in a gray robe wearing a conical hat and holding a shepherd's crook stands at center flanked by two large wooden crates filled with oranges. This area of California is long famous for its wide variety of fruits and vegetables and seemingly this is a souvenir from a fraternal society that chose to hold its gathering here. Exc. One known. Rare.
