Item Description
Each is 3.5x5.5" on stock. The left is real photo portrait and has a letter on reverse dated September 12, 1910. The postcard on right has text in bottom margin reading "At Columbus September 10, 1910" referencing visit by Roosevelt to the Ohio capital. During his visit, the city was in the midst of the Columbus Streetcar Strike, which resulted in rioting that included many injuries and at least one death. Roosevelt chastised the city's public officials for not preserving order in the community. Each postcard has light to moderate wear. Postcard on right has some scattered faint moisture spots and pin hole in top margin. Postcard on left is extremely Fine, while postcard on right is VF. Wayne Otchis Collection.
