Item Description
8.25x13.5". Dated December 21, 1795. The white paper seal remains affixed to upper left corner. Document pertaining to the appointment of Amos Hall, Esq. to position of Inspector, into his charge of a brigade of militia in Onondaga and Ontario counties. Some moderate handling, most notably some edge wear along the bottom and left edges, as well as small separation along the top edge in the center. Fine, will frame above grade. Jay signed this document in his capacity as Governor of New York. He was also an author of the Federalist Papers and the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Comes w/JSA LOA.
