Item Description
3.25" square Perianware match safe w/lid. High relief faces of Butler on all sides. 4" tall overall including kepi on top of lid to be used as handle. Top reads "Contraband Of War See Them At Work." Two sides of lid read "A Match - For Anyone" w/text repeated on opposing sides. Seldom offered w/lid. The lid has diagonal crack that has been repaired, as well as two repaired hairline cracks above above one of the portraits. Fine. Mike Nichols Collection.
