Item Description
7/8". Text reads "This Is Our Country. Yours & Mine. We Fought For It, Now Let Us Work For It". In reference to the Bonus Army protests of 1932, which were staged to get Congress to pay the promised bonus to (largely unemployed) WWI veterans immediately rather than in 1945 as the legislation passed in 1924 had stipulated. Hoover's decision call in the military to clear out the Bonus Army camps proved to be a PR nightmare amid his already poor approval among Americans in the midst of the Great Depression. Only minor wear. NM.
