Item Description
Lot of four items issued by Fawcett Publications Inc. for girls' only comic club, a rarity for the time. 8.5x11" club welcome letter mentions included badge as well as Fawcett comics. PostScript mentions fashion tips. Folded as mailed w/tiny sliver off bottom right corner and some scattered lt. edge wear. VF. Unused 3x4" membership card features Mary Marvel on both sides. Front has line for original recipient's name. The red color on Mary image on front is slightly off-register, noticeably only on face. Slightest aging w/faint paperclip mark, but still VF/Exc. 1-7/8" dia. stiff cardboard "Official Badge" flip pin has bar pin and string attachments so piece can be flipped to show each side which features colorful images of Mary Batson and Mary Marvel. Some small surface indents to Mary Marvel side, o/w Fine/VF. 4x5.75" single-sided promotional sheet featuring Mary Marvel, telling readers to "Look For Her In Captain Marvel Adventures." Sheet was issued in 1942 (Mary Marvel debuted in Captain Marvel Adventures #18, cover-dated Dec. 1942). NM. Badge is scarce while all else is rare.
