Item numbers 955 though 2537 in auction 191
Item Description
3.5x8x5" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key © Correll & Gosden, 1930. Toy is horseshoe hood ornament and crank plus separate figures of Amos, Andy and their dog. Missing plastic windshield insert. Car's body has related text included "Fresh Air Taxi Cab Company Of America Incorporated/Check And Double Check," etc. Car was designed with simulated wear and tear such as dents and dings, patched tires plus mud splotches on fenders and running boards. Toy works and travels forward before coming to a stop. It then shakes as the figures of Amos and Andy bounce up and down, then resumes its forward motion. Motor housing underneath has some discoloration on one side. Figures and body of taxi have just a few tiny paint nicks. There is more evident paint wear noticeable on wheels, mostly the two back ones. Overall Fine to VF.
