Item Description
1.75". No maker. Simple baseball design w/text (matching design to next lot). Trace of age and rim staining. Moderate surface wear w/scratches seen upon magnification as well as a few tiny cello edge splits. However overall appearance is still bright and button remains glossy. VG. Scarce. The team was founded in Harlem as the Harlem Black Bombers in 1931. By 1932 the team was named the Harlem Stars and by 1933 became the New York Black Yankees. They played in the Negro National League 1936-48. Notable players include National Baseball Hall Of Fame members Satchel Paige, Mule Suttles and Willie Wells. The team disbanded in 1959.
