Item Description
Large 3.5" button w/attached 7" fabric ribbon. No maker. Button features image of the team's cardinal mascot perched on a bat and wearing a sombrero. Text "Ole! Ole! El Birdos!" on button while ribbon reads "National League Champions 1967" Ribbon has some lt. wrinkles that would most likely iron out. Top center rim of button has some tiny age dots. The 1967 Cardinals went 101-60 during the season and won the NL pennant by 10-1/2 games over the San Francisco Giants. They went on to win the World Series in seven games over the Boston Red Sox. The team boasted four furture HOF members:  Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Steve Carlton, and Orlando Cepeda, The team was given the nickame "El Birdos" by Cepeda who was the NL MVP this year. Other accolades include 1958 ROY, an eleven-time All-Star, NL home run leader in 1961. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1999.
