Item Description
1.25". No maker. From a desirable Negro League button series that featured team name at center and matching color accents above/below this that varied from team to team. Bright, glossy and Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.

A resurrection of owner Alex Pompez's Cuban Stars from earlier years, the New York Cubans (sometimes referred to as the Cuban Stars) played in the Negro National League from 1935 to 1950 except for two seasons (1937-38). The team won its only NL championship in 1947, defeating the Negro American League's Cleveland Buckeyes in that years' World Series. After the Negro National League disbanded following the 1948 season, the New York Cubans joined the Eastern Division of the Negro American League. National Baseball Hall of Famer, Minnie Minoso, began his professional baseball career with the Cubans from 1945-48.
