Item Description
1.75 X 3-5/8" cello card with tiny text naming Pilgrim Spec. Co. Malden Mass. as make. Atlas was a Delaware maker of black powder and dynamite created in 1912 after the court ordered breakup of the Du Pont Powder Co.  Front is annual calendar titled "Safety First" and with paydays printed in red. Reverse is titled "Powderman's Pocket Calendar" with four paragraphs directed at safety and production and longer paragraph reading : "Be AMERICAN- Do not heed those who preach or talk BOLSHEVISM or any other ISM. Plain AMERICANISM means a Chance for Everyone willing  to work to earn an HONEST living. " NM. Rare artifact of the Red scarce years 1919-1920.
