Item Description
Ribbons are 9" to 10" long each. Silk. Madison County Republican Convention ribbon dated September 16, 1912. Convention held in Virginia City. Carbon County Republican State Convention dated September 5, 1912. Held in Great Falls. W. F. Meyer pictured in center. Meyer died just weeks before the election, and was replaced on the ticket by W. R. Allen, the Lt. Governor. Each has moderate wear and handling w/ pinhole at top, as well as some light creasing. Madison County ribbon is VF, while Carbon County ribbon is Extremely Fine. The Republican vote was split by the Progressives, resulting in Democratic victories in this Congressional election, as well as elections across the country. Wayne Otchis Collection.
