Item Description
Each is 3x5.5". Front cover of Lincoln embossed w/text reading "Slavery Sectional; Union & Liberty; Freedom National; Onward To Victory." Flap on reverse embossed w/the names of the 1860 Republican ticket. Front cover of Bell embossed w/text reading "The Union, The Constitution And The Laws", w/names of the Constitutional Union ticket on flap on reverse. Left side of Lincoln has paper loss, as the recipient of the letter opened it from left side. Bell envelope has tears along the top flap. Otherwise moderate handling wear w/age toning and scattered staining. Each is Good. A rare pair of 1860 artifacts w/important issues from the campaign of slavery and Union highlighted.
