Item Description
13.5x20". Newsprint. Paper is dated November 1, 1861. From the Winchester Republican newspaper. 2.75x3" cut out from paper in bottom center, as well as area of loss in lower left corner. Adhesive residue along edges. Davis and Stephens listed as the candidates for President and Vice President of the Confederate States, respectively. Alex R. Boteler listed below for Congress for the Provisional Confederate Congress. Boteler was previously a Congressman from Virginia prior to its secession from the Union. Paper has edge war and some scattered stains and traces of soil. Ballot within paper has only light wear. Overall VG, but ballot displays above grade.
