1". Produced by Greenduck Co. Issued by the March On Washington Movement a group headed by A. Phillip Randolph and Bayard Rustin that attempted to organize a mass demonstration in the nation's capital to push the US Government to desegregate the armed forces and provide jobs for African Americans. The event was canceled at the last minute when President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 8802 prohibiting racial discrimination in the national defense industry. Randolph and Rustin would later use their knowledge from this event when they organized the Aug. 28, 1963 March On Washington where Martin Luther King delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech. A few light scattered surface scratches on litho, most notably a 1/8" scratch on the "OE" in "Negroes". VF.
