Item Description
One of a kind grouping of the pieces involved in creating the statue. All items are 1 to 1 (actual production size). First item is the original 1" tall Master Wax head sculpts for Batman and Robin with strikingly precise details. They come mounted on brass rods with circular bases signed by the artist. Next is the fully realized resin "Tool Parts" used in the manufacturing of the statue with all components. The final piece in the lot is the original Paint Master prototype, hand-painted by the artist, Tim Bruckner, himself. Robin attaches via a metal pin to base. Batman and his hand holding hoop were originally glued but are currently unattached. Detailed scene reproduces the comic cover featuring the debut of Robin The Boy Wonder. Figures have some minor paint loss from handling. All items are otherwise Exc. as produced with any defects being part of the creative process. Wax Batman head has one ear tip off. The unpainted resin pieces have some extreme small tips (Batman's gloves) that are missing and hoop has a small break at edge upon close inspection. Created for DC Direct in 2001. Comes with signed, boxed example of the produced piece in cold-cast porcelain for the Batman and Robin statue and is 8.5" tall based on Jerry Robinson's artwork for the cover of Action Comics #38 (April 1940) and for a limited edition of 2000 (edition 0535/1300) pieces worldwide. Robinson's art comes to life with only the 2D art used as the guide to create this 3D masterpiece. Comes with COA. Tad Moore Collection.
