Item Description
3.5" w/ "N. G. Slater" on curl. Metal back. Union bug at 3 o'clock. Dated 1966. Text in center reads "March Through Mississippi." After Meredith was shot by a sniper on the second day of solo "March Against Fear" in 1966, other civil rights activists arrived to continue the march in his name including Dr. King and SNCC's Stokely Carmichael. Meredith recovered from his wounds and was able to re-join the march leading the 15,000 demonstrators into Jackson, MS on June 26. Small air mark at 3:30, as well as scatter moderate wear in reflected light. Minor faint spotting on text at bottom. Extremely Fine. Scarce.
