Item Description
8" overall w/1.25" cello. W&H back paper. Features Taft and IL gubernatorial candidate Charles Deneen. Deneen ran against Adlai Stevenson and narrowly defeated him in 1908. Taft also won his election against William Jennings Bryan. Interestingly, the last time that Bryan ran for president in 1900, Stevenson was his running mate. The cello features a flag design w/an Illinois state seal above them. Ribbon has some moderate wear along top w/some slight even aging on gold text. Ribbon is extremely Fine, while the cello button is Exc. John Hillhouse Collection.
