Item Description
23.5x33" framed. Produced by King & Baird Printers. Text on top reads "$100 Bounty! Good Clothing And Rations Furnished At Once." Imagery in center features battle scenes on right and left w/various figures from all walks of life coming together in unity w/"Constitution & Laws" above. Scattered creasing w/two small holes. One in flag, the other in the "A" in "Camp." Slight even aging w/moderate wear and handling. Fine. Not examined outside of frame. Edgar M. Gregory was a Colonel in the Union Army. He and his regiment were present at the Battle of Appomattox during the surrender and conclusion of the war. On June 23, 1865, Gregory issued the following general order: "People of color...the same personal liberty that other citizens and inhabitants enjoy."
