Item Description
Dewey letter is 7x10.5". Dated September 28, 1942. Addressed to Mr. Howard P. Miles, the Secretary of the Albany County Republican Committee. In 1942, Dewey was running for Governor of New York. He won in November, propelling him into the national spotlight and laying the foundation for his 1944 and 1948 presidential nominations. Only light wear w/horizontal fold lines. Exc.  Truman letter is 7x9.75". Dated January 8, 1968. from Independence, MO. Addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. McMahon. Truman thanked the McMahon's for their holiday wishes. Faint staining in center, otherwise light scattered wear. Extremely Fine. A nice pair of signed letters from the 1948 campaign rivals. Comes w/JSA LOA.
