Item Description
11x23" framed w/5x6.75" opening for letter. County of New York District Attorney stationery w/embossed seal of New York in upper left corner. Dated March 8, 1939. Addressed to Mrs. Marie Rosecrans and Miss Doris Marie Rosecrans. Moderate wear on portrait w/some faint age toning along left edge of letter. Dewey served as the district attorney from 1938-1941, where he made a name for himself taking on the mob and corruption. This led to his 1942 election to the NY governorship and his subsequent presidential nominations. Light scattered surface wear on frame. Overall extremely Fine. Comes w/JSA LOA.
