Item Description
Large and impressive 16.5" tall hand-painted hollow plastic figurine designed to set atop a generic telephone, similar in style to the popular Mickey Mouse phone. Produced in 1978 by Micro Communications, Inc. but DC Comics - for unclear reasons - rejected Micro Communications license request to produce the telephones. A small quantity had already been produced, assembled and sold/distributed; this example was bought directly from an employee of the factory that made the phones. Exc. Very rare w/few known surviving examples. Complete examples sell in the $2,000 to $3,000 range when they come up for sale (which is not often). While just the figurine, it still makes for a wonderful display item. Danny Fuchs Collection.
