Item Description
1.25" w/attached 4.5' fabric ribbon. Rim curl names maker "Basilieres Montreal." Features real photo w/o dot pattern oh him in Montreal Canadiens uniform. Ribbon has his facsimile signature plus text (In French) "A.C.R. Soiree Souvenir 17 Feb 1951." With goal 271, scored in Montreal on January 6, 1951, Richard surpassed the record goal totals of former Canadien greats Howie Morenz and Aurcle Joliat. He was presented w/a trophy at the Forum on "Maurice Richard Night", February 17, 1951, at which this rare button was offered. He played his entire NHL career w/Montreal, 1942-1960. The first NHL player to score 50 goals in one season. Inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame in 1961. Ribbon has tiny snag at left center edge and bit of fraying at bottom. Fine. Button has tiny trace of wear seen upon magnification. Glossy and Exc.
