Item Description
As rare and desirable as the Mickey Rosenthal figurines are, this is by far the rarest and most sought after Mickey Mouse Rosenthal item. Produced as a 16-piece, six-serving set, this lot is missing just one teacup, serving tray and creamer. This lot includes 3" tall teapot w/lid, 1.5" tall sugar w/lid, five 1" tall teacups and six 2.75" dia. saucers. Every piece has "Rosenthal Bavaria" mark on underside. c. 1932. Classic Mickey images appear on every piece; two on creamer, three on sugar, cups and saucers and seven on teapot. There are a total of four different images, two depicting Mickey in standing pose, two featuring more expressive images of him walking and scratching his head and great image of him grinning w/gun in hand. Each piece is beautifully detailed w/gold luster accents. Inner rim edge of teapot has tiny pinpoint nick but not visible when lid is in place so it in no way affects its appearance for display. Some of the images do have tiniest trace of wear but overall set remains in choice, Exc. to NM condition. We have only offered a few sets/near sets in our 57 years.
