Item Description
See previous lot. Pair of 8.5x11" fanzines, each w/four pages. Not to be confused w/the 1970s UK publication of the same name, these are were published in Nov. 1965 and Jan. 1966 by Marty Arbunch and Bill Dubay, and touted as "The Newspaper For Marvel Fans." Each issue features news articles and features w/photos and art both professional and amateur. Some contents of note includes features on Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D., Timely Comics cover gallery as well as featured columns by future comic write/publisher Mike Friedrich. Of note, issue #12 has large "Marvel Says No To Picto-Origins," which was a feature in earlier issues that featured amateur art for character origins, a violation of copyright laws that the publishers of  Yancy Street Journal were reprimanded about. All pages shown online. Folded as mailed w/scattered aging and handling wear. VF overall. Scarce, as print runs were often less than 200 copies and were rarely, if ever, reprinted.
