Item Description
10x12" sheet of animation paper features large full figure pastel image 7x9.5". c. 1940. Bottom margin has Disney Productions ink stamp copyright as well as second "WDP" stamp and penciled number "429." Attached to reverse is the original 3.5x5" label from Courvoisier Galleries noting "This Is An Original Story From The Walt Disney Studios Created In The Production Of Walt Disney's Fantasia." Additional text below this which is both printed and hand-inked reads "This Is One Of A Limited Number Of Drawings Of Which Type And Character From Dance Of The Hours Of Which Only 5 Are Available." Additional printed text refers to animation process. Top two corners have tape residue stain caused by attachment of an acetate overlay which comes along but is now loose. The animation paper has lt. margin wear, pair of pin holes at each corner. Art remains Exc. An exceptional piece of art for this Disney classic. From the Hake collection.
