Item Description
9.5" tall. c. 1802. Full standing portrait of founding father "Jefferson" surrounded by an oak leaf border w/additional floral adornment above. Verso features portrait of John "Hancock". Below spout are initials "PSC" and thirteen star federal eagle indicating this was almost certainly a special order pitcher. Expert restoration to small cracks, handle and spout that are seamless making for a showy display piece of the highest order. Material for Jefferson is especially scarce and this is among the finest dimensional pieces of material culture for the third President. Among the highlights of the Rex & Patti Stark Collection.
