Item Description
1-3/8" (34mm). Brass. DeWitt GW-1789-4. Albert WI-1a. Hake #3007. Holed at 4 o'clock. Missing original shank on verso. Text around rim "March The Fourth 1789 Memorable Era" w/colonial eagle and star design at center. Strike is extremely bold. Attractive design retaining its distinct, sharp details. Technically Fine. A nice example of this important design commemorating the date the newly formed government began to operate under the Constitution. Washington's inauguration was scheduled for this day but delays postponed the celebration until April 30th.
