Item Description
6.25x8.25" on thin sheet of translucent porcelain likely produced by Koenigliche Porzellan Manufaktur (KPM) in Germany for the American market. Dramatic pose of Scott, hat in hand and arm outstretched, standing next to his horse w/a shipyard in the background and a facsimile signature at bottom right. Image details are both incised and in relief appearing white until back-lit when the monochromatic effect is revealed highlighting the contrast and subtle details of the image w/a three dimensional effect. Edge residue from previously being in a stand mount and a horizontal stain in top margin none of which interrupt the image. VF. A prized display item from the Rex & Patti Stark Collection.
