Auction 191 - Part II
Item numbers 955 though 2537 in auction 191
Item Description
Lot of 12 (10 different plus 2 duplicates) from set of 35 issued in the 1930s by Fleer. Each is 2.5 x 2 15/16” with different colored tinted photo fronts, text for that specific person on reverses. Cards feature fictional hoodlums and detectives such as “Rudolph Razzberry, Constable Corntassle, Rube Riley, Geston The Gorilla, Ivan Awfulbush”, etc. Card numbers are 1, 5, 11 (1 + duplicate but in different color variety), 15, 18, 22, 24, 31, 35 (1 + duplicate in same color variety). These were originally issued with an “evidence tab” on top perforated margin. This was ment to be removed and redeemed via mail for a detective commission and badge and as is almost always the case, all cards in this lot are without this tab. All cards have moderate margin/corner tip wear and trace of aging. Few cards have a very minor crease but overall lot is Fine.
