Set of 40 each 2.25x3-3/8" issued in the 1950s by Ralston Wheat & Rice Chex. They were packaged one per box of cereal. Cards feature choice full color illustrations on fronts with text for that specific image on backs along with list of cards for the three different subsets plus cereal ad. Subsets are “Space Heroes/Stars and Planets/Rockets, Jets, and Weapons.” The two key cards are from the “Space Heroes” subset and these are Buzz Corry and Cadet Happy. The last Buzz Corry card we offered sold for over $150.00 on its own. Most of the cards have just a slight trace of aging to margins/reverses. Also two of the cards from this subset have a very minor crease noticeable only when viewed closely. About 8 cards from the Stars and Planets subset have slightly more noticeable age toning. However all remain totally bright and clean. Some scattered tiny corner tip wear to some cards but most cards have very sharp corners. While a couple of cards are about Fine and several are VF the vast majority of this set is Exc/NM. (including the two noted key cards). A very difficult set to obtain especially in this condition and this is the only set we have ever offered in Hake’s 40 year history.
