Item Description
This 13x57x13" large, ornately hand-carved solid wood staircase newel was custom-made by the production team as a focal point of the mansion's grand central staircase. Unlike the smaller newels used throughout the staircase, this newel was highly detailed and carved from solid wood. The top was later damaged during filming and set demolition, having been split into four loose pieces that no longer align together, but the newel still retains its grand persona. Prominently featured in several scenes in the film, including the menacing scene where Richard Straker sacrifices Ralphie Glick to Barlow. Due to the size and/or weight of this item, packing and shipping must be done by a third party. Please contact us w/any shipping rate inquiries prior to close of auction. Item can also be picked up in person if so desired. Provenance Above the Line Production Rentals and Hollywood Salvage and comes w/Hake's COA.
