Three distinct series of baseball cards were issued in 1967 by Topps to be distributed in Venezuela. Cards #1-138, including the example offered here, feature players currently active in the country's Winter League. Card size varies but is somewhat smaller than the standard-size of the era. Card fronts have posed photos. Backs include short bio. Many cards from this series found today are in lesser condition w/back damage from album removal being the primary culprit. The example offered here has not only received a high grade for the issue but also represents the first card ever issued of Cincinnati all-time shortstop great, Dave Concepcion. Although not yet enshrined in Cooperstown Dave is on many people's short list of future HOF candidates. An exceptional example of this lesser known rookie card. Richard Merkin Collection.
