Item Description
Initially offered as a boxed mail-order premium, this Belloq (Ceremonial Robe) did not see traditional distribution to the public for purchase as it is believed only a handful of figures were packaged on cards. It is presumed that these were produced prior to the cancellation of Kenner's The Adventures of Indiana Jones in Raiders Of The Lost Ark toyline, likely intended for use as Toy Fair displays or salesman's samples (though card offered here does bear Surplus City store price sticker). The blister card is slightly taller than other Kenner Indiana Jones blisters cards and was printed on thicker stock w/a unique tan/brown hieroglyphic border and back of card has a lower case "e" at lower right (by Kenner proof-of-purchase). The blister is sealed to the card w/Kenner's traditional "waffle" pattern and Belloq's staff is taped to the front left corner of the blister. Blister contains 3.75" tall Kenner action figure, which features a properly oxidized gold headband, giving the gold paint an aged look not seen on the more commonly seen mail-order variety. Card has been punched. Archival case. AFA subgrades are as follows - C50 B60 F80. Comes with Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) LOA as well as Letter of Provenance from noted Indiana Jones expert Brian Rachfal. Among the most desirable pieces from Kenner's Indiana Jones toyline, we are proud to offer this very rare figure for the first time. One of just four examples graded by AFA.
