Item Description
This 7-3/8x10-1/8" prop copy of Captain America Comics #1 was used in the production of 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. The comic's front and back cover are printed on heavyweight glossy paper, recreating the cover of one of the Golden Age's most iconic comic books, which introduced fans to Captain America, Bucky and the villainous Red Skull. While the prop's cover recreates the comic in colorful detail, there are two notable differences. The original comic has a small a small inset section below Captain America's feet that serves as introduction to his teen sidekick Bucky. This, as well as the month of publication was removed for the film's purpose. The book's interior is blank. This comic and others like it can be seen in the film as Captain America becomes known and widespread throughout the United States and the world. Several varieties of this prop comic book exist as in the film, comics are seen flying off of newsstands to eager children eager to read about Cap's exploits. Prop shows some lt. scattered handling wear, with a couple pinch creases to spine. VF/Exc. overall.
