Item Description
A beautiful and rare glazed ceramic figurine w/base 1-1/8" deep by 2.5" wide and a height of 4-5/8". Mickey is depicted holding a stick w/his belongings wrapped in a bandanna resting on his shoulder as he takes a breather perched atop a simulated stone road marker inscribed at the bottom "London XII Miles." Reverse of piece has inscription "By Permission Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Ltd." Underside of base reads "Wadeheath England." Mickey is designed w/head more narrow and less circular than he is usually seen. Still he has quite a long nose. His shoes are turned down as if pressing against the stone he sits upon and this gives his legs something of an elongated look. Among the best ceramic depictions of Mickey we've ever seen and the only example we've ever seen or know of. c. mid-1930s. Mint.
