Item Description
Introduced in Kenner's "Go For The Gold" catalog, Kenner conceived a plan to hook a new generation of fans on their Star Wars action figures and toys. As the original Star Wars trilogy had come to a satisfying conclusion, Kenner could see that their heyday selling of Star Wars toys was on the decline. The promotion aimed to distribute free toys, w/the stated start date being in June 1984. Offered here is a Kenner internal sample, which is distinguished by the "John A. Sample" recipient name. These internal samples included a 3.25" tall Logray Ewok action figure sealed in a ROTJ-e baggie. Of note, the figure was packaged before the headdress paint had time to properly dry, resulting in notable paint transfer to interior of the baggie. This is a common issue w/these samples. AFA encapsulated display includes original mailer box, sealed illustrated envelope w/"The Force Is Strong With Your Young Jedi Knight" text and aforementioned figure. AFA subgrades are as follows - B85 W85 F85. Rare and first we've offered. Only five examples in total have been graded by AFA according to current AFA Population Report, this being the single highest graded example. Jeff Jacob Collection.
