Item Description
Lot of two, 1930s. Paper sign is 7x21” with adhesive strip on right/left margins for window mounting. Text notes these hats were given away free with each package of cookies. Includes example image of the hat as well as cookie box designed like Practical Pig’s house surrounded by Disney character-shaped cookies. Right/left margins have scattered traces of surface paper rubs. Original vertical center fold has 1/8x.25” spot of missing paper due to insects below the letter “M” in “Mouse.” Top center margin has 2 small missing strips of paper each about .25x1” in length which have been repaired with a strip of green paper closely matching original border design so only noticeable when viewed closely. For the most part sign remains bright and clean. Superb graphics and Rare. VG/Fine. The last sign we offered sold for over $900.00. The thin die-cut cardboard hat has overall size of 7x12”. Features large image of Mickey with smaller image of him on the band along with Minnie, Pluto, The Three Pigs & Wolf. Few minor creases. Clean, VF. This is the actual example as shown in Tomart's Disneyana Update #43 and comes w/a copy of that issue.
From the Tomart Archives and comes w/COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
